Single origin dairy and farmgate café tour
Looking for the ultimate food tourism experience while visiting the 12 Apostles and Great Ocean Road?
Ever wondered how milk, cheese and ice cream you buy in shops is made and where it comes from?
Julian and Dianne Benson have built up Apostle Whey Cheese over 43 years and the business combines their passion for food, animal welfare, regenerative farming and the environment.
During the two hour tour (Monday to Friday only) you’ll learn why they got into cheese, milk and gelato production in 2005, why a healthy environment is important to their business and the challenges they overcame over four decades to develop a sustainable farm.
The tour also includes a visit to the “mooternity” ward where calves are born, the milk and cheese-making facilities as well as seeing the cows being milked at 4pm. All tours include cheese tasting, coffee and a cheese toastie.
